The Valley Metro Light Rail connects the cities of Tempe, Mesa and Phoenix. This service runs through Tempe from the neighboring cities of Phoenix and Mesa. Valley Metro provides bus service in Tempe. The City of Tempe has neighborhood circulator services known as “Orbit” that uses mini-buses, and “Flash”. These buses are wheelchair accessible.
Orbit Neighborhood Circulator: It is a free bus service serving the residential area and several attractions, shopping, entertainment venues. It circulates in downtown Tempe and the Mill Avenue District, and also connects to the Valley light rail station. The routes of the Orbit are named after “Planets”. - Mercury: It circulates between the Escalante Center and downtown Tempe through Eighth Street/Lemon Street/Hayden lane.
- Venus: It travels between the Broadway Road/ Beck Avenue and downtown Tempe via 5th Street/Farmers Avenue/ Roosevelt Street.
- Earth: It connects the downtown area with Tempe Marketplace via north Tempe neighborhoods.
- Mars: It circulates between the US 60 and the Broadway Road via McClintock drive to the eastern border.
